bringing really big smiles with really fun cranes

branding, ui/ux design, web development

The Really Big Crane Company (RBCC) is an amusement gaming collaboration between operators and manufacturers, created by arcade game legends with a combined experience of more than 100 years in the industry. RBCC predominantly sells crane games, but aims to offer other arcade games in the future. The ultimate goal of RBCC is to deliver maximum value to game operators by giving them a 360 degree view of the industry.

RBCC manufactures games and sells them to distributors, who in turn sells them to operators, who put them in their locations for the customer to enjoy. The traditional sales process for a distributor to order games or parts is outdated and manual, for both the buyers and sellers. It includes a long paper trail – purchase orders, mailed invoices, mailed payments – before games or parts can be shipped. RBCC sought to update this extremely manual process.

The leadership team also knew they needed an updated brand and website that would set them apart as an innovator and leader in the industry. Their limited website was hindering future company growth.

RBCC approached Jobyte to design a relatable and attention-grabbing brand and website that would appeal to their target audience and position RBCC as an industry leader and top service provider. The new brand must convey feelings of experience and trust while also being exciting and fun. The design system needed to expand across all applications seamlessly – from the website and marketing materials to exterior game designs and brand merchandise.

“Joybyte really took the time to understand our company mission, the brand, and the people we are targeting with our website. The team took a lot of time to ask questions so that when it came time to design, develop, and write content, they were already hitting the nail on the head.”

project highlights

refreshed brand identity

The Joybyte team wanted to develop a character for the refreshed logo that would create brand equity that operators and customers would immediately relate to and want to be a part of.

Joybyte chose the Anglerfish due to its uniqueness and for its anatomy that mirrors actual gameplay of trying to trap a prize with an arcade claw. The Anglerfish character design is unique, memorable, whimsical and packs a ton of attitude (just look at those shades!).

upgraded user experience

In order to grow the company, it was vital the new RBCC website was capable of being a powerful sales tool, while also representing a fresh look that makes it stand out in the industry.

Joybyte delivered a unique and powerful website experience with a beautiful user interface that’s easy for customers to use.

streamlined process

The updated RBCC website streamlines the previously time consuming and manual process of purchasing parts and games. For the first time, distributors and retail partners can order directly on the website, with no extra steps.

RBCC is a leader in paving the way for a more streamlined process that embraces technology and eliminates the need for manual labor.
